Mr. Smartypants is exactly what his name suggests—smart, sweet, and a true survivor.

Smarty and his companions were rescued from a barn where an owl posed a constant threat. His clever instincts helped keep him safe, but it was the quick action of his rescuers that gave him the opportunity to leave that dangerous life behind and discover the comfort, safety, and kindness of indoor living.

Because Smarty had very limited human interaction during his early life, he is still learning to trust people. With patience, consistency, and the support of a confident feline friend, he has already made wonderful progress. His previous foster accomplished remarkable results in a short time simply by spending a few minutes with him each day, allowing trust to develop at Smarty's own pace.

As he becomes more comfortable, Smarty continues to show signs of the loving companion he is meant to be. He is learning to relax and feel safe enough to show his vulnerable loving side and is enjoying chilling in the catio. He is looking for a calm, patient home that will give him the time and understanding he needs to continue building confidence and strengthening his bond with people
