Bear – Your Big, Cuddly Companion

Bear is a sweet and snuggly teddy bear of a cat with a great big heart. This easy-going softy loves being around people. He will follow you around, politely chatting with you and happily soak up all the love you have to give.

While most know him as Bear, his true name is Makwa, which means “Black Bear” in Ojibwe. He even has a special personalized collar that shows how deeply he is cherished by all who have cared for him.

Though he is considered a senior, Bear has the playful energy of a much younger cat! He delights in chasing laser dots, fetching bite-sized balls, and exploring high-up perches. He is also perfectly content to be scooped up and carried like the big cuddlebug he is. With his soft, plush fur, his white toe and belly, and his endearing habit of gently tapping you with a paw when he wants attention, Bear is truly one of a kind. He also has a one of a kind, soft pleasant – “mowwwh” meow – which is also his way of showing affection.

Bear thrives in a home where he can be the centre of attention. He is indifferent to dogs and other cats and would do well either as a solo companion or with respectful furry friends. He has a gentle soul so would be a loving companion to any for cat savvy children. A great traveler (though he will happily chat with you along the way), Bear adapts easily and would fit beautifully into just about any loving home.
