Meet Chubby (aka Stubby) – The Gentle Giant with a Cropped Tail and a Heart of Gold

Chubby is a soft-hearted sweetheart who melts under the warmth of pets and affection. Chubby came into the Rescue a little underweight and rough around the edges. He is now filling out and his coat is getting softer and shinier everyday.

Chubby has earned the nickname “Stubby” as the result of an old, healed tail injury. With his sturdy build and cropped and crooked tail, he resembles a majestic grey Draft horse and shares that same steady, gentle nature. Chubby is a calm, sweet companion who wants nothing more than a peaceful home filled with love.

Chubby does not have a mean bone in his body. He is the kind of cat who lets others eat first and treats everyone—animal or human—with quiet kindness. His affectionate, peaceful nature makes him a truly heartwarming companion.

Underneath that gentle exterior is also a bit of a goofball! Chubby loves to toss his toy mouse into the air and dramatically pounce like a fierce little hunter. And when the catnip comes out, Chubby turns into a silly moose, full of joy and charm.

Chubby is a shy, sensitive soul who has had a tough start in life. New environments can overwhelm him, but with patience and kindness, Chubby blossoms into a devoted lap cat. He adores being close to his people and gives as much love as he receives. Chubby would thrive in a calm, quiet home with a patient and understanding human. A confident feline friend could help him settle in, and he’s also okay with respectful dogs.
