Say hello to Lusat!

This big loveable guy came into the rescue with his sister as a kitten. His sister was adopted some time ago to a great family and now it's his turn. Unfortunately before Lusat came into the rescue he sustained an injury to his eye. Once with us he was seen by a vet and we were told he had a Corneal Ulcer. Even though the Ulcer (open wound) healed he was left with permanent scarring and structural change which is why he has a foggy eye. We tried many different treatments including Ophthalmic Autologous Serum which helped heal the Ulcer but nothing has cleared up the foggy look of his eye. He also does not seem to have vision in that eye any more but that doesn't stop him from running around playing being a typical young cat. His eye is stable and is best to be left just as it is. He does require a lubricating gel (Optixcare) in the eye once a day to make sure the eye stays as healthy as it can.

Lusat is a sweet boy who has been around many cats of different ages and temperaments plus dogs of different sizes and temperaments. They all like him and he gets along with the majority of them.

He has only been around older children, so we're not sure how he would do with little ones.

He would definitely do better with a cat buddy in the home with him and maybe even a dog one too.

Lusat loves to play, and run around with the other foster cats in the home. He loves all kinds of toys like ball towers, wands, furry toy mice, springs, ping pong balls, catnip toys, and loves any and all kinds of scratchers.

He has a great appetite and loves his kibble but also likes freeze dried raw, frozen raw, wet food and almost any kind of treat. His eyes look better and healthier when L-lysine is added into his diet every day.

He has great litter tray habits and is a very clean boy other than keeping his eyes clean, but due to the injury he had as a kitten we think he just prefers not to touch his eyes.

Lusat loves attention, he will rub all around your legs and if you sit on the floor he'll head bump you and flop down next to you asking for belly rubs, head scratches, and butt scratches. He enjoys a cuddle now and then but we'll take a little time for new people to be able to hold and cuddle him.

Lusat has been waiting quite a long time to be ready to find his forever family. We can't wait for him to find a family that will love him forever and one he can love in return. Are you that family?
