Shadow is a big, goofy puppy with a lovable husky personality and endless charm. He is clumsy, funny, dramatic in the most entertaining way, and has the kind of endearing personality that makes people fall for him fast.

He is great with kids and does well with other dogs. He has also been introduced to cats and has responded with a mix of curiosity, a little uncertainty and then indifference. Shadow would make a wonderful companion for another playful dog, especially one that is comfortable with his mouthy puppy play style. He is very respectful when another dog lets him know they have had enough, and there is not a mean bone in his body. He also has no resource guarding issues.

Like most puppies his age, Shadow has lots of energy, loves to play hard, and then crashes hard for a good nap. He is currently teething, so he loves to chew, but he does a great job keeping that focused on his toys. He is still working on not chewing on people’s hands, but he listens well, understands correction, and just needs someone committed to continuing his training.

Shadow is incredibly food motivated, which makes him a quick learner. He is already picking things up fast and has improved a lot with training. For example, he used to bark at everything that moved, and now he mostly only barks if someone knocks at the door.

He is also almost completely house trained. When adjusting to a new home, he may have an accident or two while learning the routine, but overall he is doing very well.

He loves the outdoors more than the average dog and would be happiest in a home with a backyard. He is perfectly content hanging out outside on his own, just enjoying being a dog. He also does well on a long lead and is still working on pulling during regular leash walks, but he has all the potential to improve quickly with continued training.

When left home alone, Shadow is crated and settles down quite quickly. He does not love being crated while people are home, mostly because he would much rather be curled up beside you getting snuggles.

One of Shadow’s sweetest qualities is how tolerant and affectionate he is with people. He is wonderful about being hugged, kissed, gently manhandled, picked up, and fussed over. Despite being a mouthy, playful puppy, he is very gentle with babies and children.

Shadow is sweet, funny, full of personality, and ready to become an amazing dog in the right home. He will thrive with a family who can appreciate his silly husky ways, give him space to play and explore, and continue helping him grow into the wonderful companion he is already becoming.
