Alaska is as sweet as they come. She’s an adorable fluffy cuddle bug who wants to say hi to everyone (and every dog) she passes, and has a gentle, friendly personality that wins hearts wherever she goes.
She’s playful, outgoing, and super social. Alaska gets along great with other dogs (she currently shares a foster home with another dog) and would love a home with a doggy friend, but she'll also be content as the only dog. She has already learned how to play fetch and picks things up quickly. She’s very food motivated which makes training easier.
Alaska is curious and confident when exploring new places, which makes her a great companion for all kinds of adventures. She’s an awesome pup to bring along on outings. She’s happy at coffee shops, patios, and anywhere she can soak up new sights (and admirers).
She’s about 40 lbs now and still growing, so she’ll likely be a big girl once fully grown.
Like any puppy, Alaska's still learning and growing. She’s mostly potty trained and will do her business right away when brought outside, but she may still have the occasional accident. She sleeps through the night in her crate. She might protest for a few minutes at first, but she settles down pretty quickly and sleeps soundly. She’s also still getting used to being left alone when we leave the house, which is nothing out of the ordinary for a puppy in a new environment. When we step away, she might bark or cry for a little while but then settles down. She’s not destructive and doesn’t show signs of true separation anxiety, she’s just learning that being alone is okay. With time and routine, she’s improving every day.
Since she’s still teething, she can be a little mouthy with hands and feet, which might be a consideration for families with young kids.
We’d describe Alaska’s exercise needs as moderate. She wouldn’t be happy as a full-time couch potato and may get a bit restless with just leash walks, but as long as she has few chances to run around and play each day and she’ll happily curl up for cuddles and naps afterward.
If you’re looking for a sweet-natured, affectionate pup with a playful personality and a whole lot of love to give, Alaska would make a wonderful addition to your family.
