Resume of a Professional Snuggler: An Interview with Squash
Q: What’s your biggest strength as a house cat?
A: I am a very brave boy! Things that scare other cats like loud vacuums, car rides, or big dogs, don't bother me at all. I’m very steady and I adjust to new places fast. I also love to climb; the higher I can get, the better! Whether it's a cat tree or a high shelf, I like to oversee my kingdom from the top. I’m also a great supervisor of my foster parents while they work from home, my cuddles keep them productive!
Q: What’s your biggest weakness?
A: My passion for the culinary arts. I’m a total foodie. I’ll scarf down anything I find! I’m still learning that human snacks and houseplants aren't part of my designated meal plan, so I’ll need a family who keeps the counters clear and my bowl full.
Q: We hear you have a very "active" play style. Tell us about that?
A: When the zoomies hit, I’m an elite athlete! I love a good "hunt," and sometimes I get so excited that I’ll try to tag your hand or feet into the game. I just need some fun toys (springs are my fav) to help me get all that energy out! I also love to watch birds, so if you've got a bird feeder, that'll keep me entertained for ages!
Q: What are you interested in learning once you’re adopted?
A: I’ve been told I’d be a world-class adventure cat! Because of my calm demeanor and curiosity about the outdoors, I’d love to learn how to walk on a leash or ride in a backpack and explore the world with you.
Q: What is your favorite way to spend a Sunday afternoon?
A: SNUGGLING. It’s my specialty. My foster parents say I’m the world’s most cuddly cat. Once I’m done playing, all I want to do is climb into your lap and be close to you. I’m so dedicated to my job that I even allow "lap transfers".
Q: Do you have a secret talent?
A: I’m a vocalist! I love to sing, and my meows are incredibly endearing. I’ll happily serenade you to let you know I’m happy, or perhaps to remind you that dinner is late.
Q: What’s your biggest pet peeve?
A: I’m pretty easygoing, but please don't rub my belly! It’s just not for me. But I absolutely love it when you scratch my head, my cheeks, or my chin. Those are the keys to my heart.
Q: We hear you’re quite the social butterfly. How do you feel about having roommates of the furry variety?
A: I’m a "the more the merrier" kind of guy! I’d definitely enjoy having a fellow feline friend to chase around during my zoomies. And dogs? They don't intimidate me one bit. In fact, once I’ve decided a dog is "cool," I’ve been known to initiate a snuggle session. If your resident pup is looking for a feline best friend to nap with, I’m officially applying for the position!
Q: What kind of family would be the best fit for you?
A: I’m looking for a fun, active home that appreciates a cat with a big personality! I’d love a family that has plenty of toys to keep my "hunter" instincts satisfied and maybe even someone who wants to take me on outdoor adventures. If you have snacks and a warm lap, and furry siblings I can snuggle with, we’re going to be best friends.
🐾 Closing Statement from Squash:
Thank you for coming to my interview! I may have a few freckles on my nose and a big appetite in my belly, but I have even more love in my heart. If you're looking for a brave adventurer who will serenade you and snuggle you every single day, I’m ready to start the job. Can't wait to meet you!
